Summary: DHEA for Depression
Columbia University's HIV Clinical Research Program
For HIV+ men and women with mild to moderate symptoms of
depression lasting 2+ months and:
- May also have low energy, loss of muscle mass, or low
libido
- Not currently taking antidepressant medication
- No drug history or in recovery 6+ months
What is DHEA? DHEA is classified as a
nutritional supplement, which may be useful in treating mild forms
of depression.
What is involved? The research program involves
4-6 months of free psychiatric treatment and DHEA, plus
compensation for monthly assessments and lab visits.
