Summary: Children with and without Cerebral Palsy needed for a walking study

University of Virginia Health System -Children's Medical Center-Motion Analysis and Motor Performance Laboratory at Kluge Childrens Rehabilitation Center (KCRC) seeks children with and without Cerebral Palsy for a walking study.

The purpose of the study to test the movement and energy used by children when different ankle-foot braces are worn. Participants would be required to walk wearing 2 different types of braces. There are 2 3 visits to KCRC, each visit lasting approximately 2 hours.

To qualify, children must:
§ Be between 60 and 130 pounds
§ Be able to walk independently without assistive devices
§ Not be cognitively impaired
§ Not have received treatments to reduce stiffness/spasticity
such as Baclofen or Botox and should not have had surgery on
their legs in the last 6 months
§ Not have a seizure disorder

Compensation for study completion is $100.00.
