Summary: Comparison of Peg-Intron 1.5 ug/kg/wk Plus Rebetol vs. Peg-Intron 1 ug/kg/wk Plus Rebetol vs. Pegasys 180 ug/wk Plus Copegus in Previously Untreated Adult Subjects With Chronic Hepatitis C Infected With Genotype 1 [P03471]

This study is for patients who have chronic hepatitis C that have never been treated with interferons or ribavirin. Study participants will receive either Peg-Intron plus Rebetol or Pegasys plus Copegus.
All study medications and most procedures will be provided at no cost. There will be 15 clinic visits over 1 1/2 years.
No Compensation Provided

Patient Inclusion/Exclusion Criteria:

You may be eligible to participate if you
-are male or female 18-70 years old
-have been diagnosed with chronic hepatitis C
-meet additional criteria

You will not be able to participate if you
-have been treated with interferon or ribavirin
-are pregnant or breastfeeding
-are HIV positive
-have a history of cancer within the last 5 years
-have had an organ transplant
