Summary: Pediatric Epilepsy and Cognition Research Study
Does your child have partial onset seizures not controlled
adequately by their current medications? If so, the Department of
Neurology at the Medical University of South Carolina is currently
conducting a study to test an add-on, anti-epileptic medication to
determine how the drug affects memory, learning, attention,
behavior and quality of life in children.
Who is eligible?
- Children between the ages of 4-16 years old with a confirmed
diagnosis of epilepsy for a minimum of six months.
What is involved in the study?
- You and your child will have to attend 6-8 office visits for up
to 19 weeks. The visits and study medication will be provided at no
cost to you. Monetary compensation is available.
