Purpose:

  • The purpose of this study is to compare the effectiveness of three different doses of a modified release formulation of an FDA-approved medication to placebo for the treatment of high blood pressure in adults.

You may be eligible for this study if you:

  • Are 18 years of age or older.
  • Have high blood pressure (hypertension).

You cannot participate in this study if you:

  • Are pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • Have congestive heart failure.
  • Have ever had a heart attack.
  • Are currently participating in another research study.

Time commitment:
This study will last approximately 12 weeks. During that time, participants will need to visit the local research site approximately 13 times. You participation is completely voluntary, and you may withdraw from the study at any time.
