Summary: Clinical Trial of CCX282-B in Individuals With Moderately to Severely Active Crohn’s Disease.

CCX282-B is a chemokine antagonist currently being investigated as a potential treatment for Crohn’s disease. ChemoCentryx, Inc Pharmaceuticals is currently sponsoring a study evaluating the safety, tolerability, immunologic, clinical activity, and population pharmacokinetics of CCX282-B administered for four weeks in patients with moderate to severe Crohn's disease. Individuals with Crohn’s disease will be randomly assigned to receive either placebo (an inactive substance) or CCX282-B orally.

Eligibility requirements for this study include the following:

  • Males and females between 18 and 65 years of age.
  • Moderate to severe Crohn’s disease at study entry.
  • Females must not be pregnant or breastfeeding.
  • Must not have previously taken CCX282-B.
  • Use of some other Crohn’s disease medications is permitted, but will be closely supervised.
