Trial Information

Summary: Are you having problems sleeping through the night or staying awake during the day?

If you are diagnosed with memory impairment or dementia and you live at home with a caregiver, you may be eligible to participate in a Stanford research study of the effectiveness of light treatment for improving sleep, wake, and quality of life. The study team will set up the light equipment in the convenience of your home.

Patients must be over the age of 55. Both patients and their caregivers will participate in the light treatment.

Each pair of participants can receive a total of $500 upon completion of the entire study to cover transportation expenses and for your time.

Inclusion:

  • Patient lives with a caregiver and is diagnosed with dementia and/or other memory problems.

Exclusion:

  • Severe eye disorders, bipolar disorder, sleep disorders, patient younger than 55 of age, unstable caregiver situation.
