You have been asked to participate in this research study because you are a postmenopausal woman aged 50-65 with an increased risk for breast cancer. The purpose of this study is to determine whether grape seed extract lowers estrogen levels in normal postmenopausal women and, if so, which dose(s) is/are the most effective at lowering estrogen levels. Another purpose is to measure the safety and tolerability of grape seed extract by collecting information on side effects using questionnaires. Your participation in this study is expected to last approximately four months. Grape seed extract is sold at many stores as an antioxidant. Research studies have shown that grape seed extract may have a beneficial effect on cardiovascular (heart) disease and cancer. One research study found grape seed extract to be one of the five most common supplements used by cancer patients.
