Trial Information

Summary: A Multi-Center Phase III Double-Blind Clinical Trial to Evaluate the Efficacy of Mycophenolate Mofetil added to Prednisone plus Cyclosporine or Tacrolimus for Treatment of Newly Diagnosed Chronic Graft Vs Host Disease

You have/your child has been asked to participate in this research study because you have/your child has been diagnosed with chronic graft-versus-host disease (GVHD). The purpose of this study is to compare standard chronic GVHD treatment to standard GVHD treatment plus mycophenolate mofetil (MMF) to see whether adding MMF increases the effectiveness of standard treatment. Another purpose to learn more about the effect this treatment may have on quality of life. Your/your child's treatment on this study will continue for as long as it appears the addition of the study drug to standard GVHD treatment is beneficial and is not causing unmanageable side effects. It is possible that this may last approximately 3-5 years, unless you/your child decides to withdraw at an earlier time or if the overall study closes early. Follow-up after your/your child's treatment is completed will continue indefinitely.
