Summary: Stroke- Micardis

Summary: A Double-blind, Active and Placebo Controlled Study of Aggrenox vs. Clopidogrel + aspirin, with and without Micardis in stroke

Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, Inc. is currently recruiting subjects to participate in an experimental study for treating Stroke.

Study drug and procedures will be made available to you at no cost.

To qualify, you must:

  • Be 55 years of age or older
  • Have had an ischemic stroke within 90 days

You may not qualify if you:

  • Have had a hemorrhagic (bleeding in the brain) stroke
  • Cannot take study drug (whole, via mouth)
  • Have a brain tumor
  • Have uncontrolled hypertension (high blood pressure)
  • Have a known hypersensitivity to dipyridamole, clopidogrel, aspirin, or telmisartan (Micardis)
  • Have current congestive heart failure; a known active peptic ulcer disease, severe coronary artery disease, hemostatic disorder (bleeding disorder) or systemic bleeding
  • Have received any other treatment with an experimental drug within 30 days before the study
  • Are pregnant or nursing.
