Trial Information
Summary: SWOG E1697: Phase III Randomized Study of Four Weeks of High Dose IFN-a2b in Stage T3 - T4 or N1 (microscopic) Melanoma
You have been asked to participate in this research study because you have malignant melanoma that has been treated with surgery and it is possible that your melanoma might relapse (return). The primary objective of this study is to compare treatment with 4 weeks of high-dose IFN-a2b to observation alone in terms of relapse-free survival, side effects, and quality of life. If you are assigned to receive treatment on this study, it is expected to last for four weeks. All subjects on this study will be asked to have regular medical evaluations for five years. After your active participation is complete, your medical condition will be followed indefinitely.
