Summary: A Pilot Study of Tamoxifen, Carboplatin and Topotecan in the Treatment of Recurrent or Refractory Primary Brain or Spinal Cord Tumors or Metastatic Epithelial Cancers with Central Nervous System Metastases.

You have been asked to take part in this research study because you have either primary brain or spinal cord cancer that has recurred after or is refractory to standard treatment, or you have cancer that has spread to your central nervous system. The purpose of this research is study the effect of the combination of Tamoxifen, Topotecan and Carboplatin this type of cancer. Your treatment on this study is expected to last for at least 2 months. You may be treated for a longer period if your cancer responds to treatment or for a shorter period if side effects are too severe or if your cancer worsens. After your treatment on this study is over, your medical condition will be followed indefinitely.
