Summary: Adolescent Depression Study
A safety and efficacy trial of an investigational medication in
children and adolescents with major depressive disorder.
If your child experiences one or more of these symptoms for two
weeks or longer, they may be eligible for this study:
For children ages 7-12:
- Is often angry or starts fights
- Is spending more and more time alone
- Stays home often because of aches and pains
- Has difficulty sitting still or concentrating most days
- No longer cares about favorite activities or is “too tired to
play”
- Is constantly worried or fears that “bad things will
happen”
- Is feeling sad or hopeless most of the time
For teens:
- Is angry most of the time
- Is spending more and more time alone
- Is overly sensitive to rejection or failure
- Has difficulty concentrating most days
- Is sleeping too much or too little
- Is easily irritated
- Is tired all the time
- Is feeling sad or hopeless most of the time
- Is doing poorly in school
