Trial Information
Summary: Do you have heart disease or diabetes? Lowering cholesterol lowers risk of heart attack or stroke.
If you have diabetes or heart disease, reducing health risk
factors can improve your quality of life. Lowering blood
cholesterol levels that are too high reduces the risk for
developing heart disease and lessens the chance of heart attack,
stroke or dying of coronary heart disease (CHD).
A clinical research study is being conducted to evaluate the
effectiveness and safety of an investigational drug that may help
to lower cholesterol levels compared with two drugs approved by the
Food and Drug Administration for the treatment of high cholesterol.
You may qualify to participate if you are 18 or older and
have CHD, diabetes or are at high risk for CHD. Qualified
participants receive study-related doctor’s care, study medication,
study-related lab work, & dietary counseling at no cost, along
with up to $250 in compensation.
