Summary: New Study: DHEA
Who is eligible?
HIV+ men and women ages 18-70 who have been depressed for two
months or longer and:
- Not currently taking antidepressant medication
- No drug use history or in recovery 6+ months
- May also have low energy, low libido, loss of muscle
mass
Study involves:
All participants meet with a study psychiatrist weekly or
biweekly, and are offered 4 months of treatment with DHEA, although
for some there may be an 8-week delay.
What is DHEA?
DHEA is classified as a nutritional supplement. Our product has
been approved by the Food and Drug Administration as meeting
standards for purity and content (unlike tablets sold in health
food stores).

- Free psychiatric treatment and free DHEA.
- Compensation for clinical assessments (questionnaires).
- Endocrinology laboratory sub-study with number of visits
flexible, depending on your available time and desire for
additional compensation.
