Summary: Do you have Type 2 Diabetes?
Stanford Researchers Studying Diabetes and Heart
Disease
Dr. Gerald Reaven and his associates at Stanford University
Medical Center are seeking volunteers for a study on diabetes and
heart disease. Volunteers need to be between the ages of 30 - 70,
have a diagnosis of Type 2 diabetes, and not taking insulin. The
study will take place at Stanford University Medical Center over
approximately a 4-month period. Participants will receive a medical
examination, evaluation of heart disease risk factors and
medication to improve blood sugar control. Participants will be
followed weekly and will receive dietary counseling from a research
dietitian. Interested persons should call Dr. Abbasi or Dr.
Chu.
