Trial Information
Summary: Research study of an experimental pain medication for patients with pain related to cancer.
Patients must be taking an opioid narcotic pain medication for
at least 2 weeks prior to entering the study and have pain expected
to last at least 90 days. The study is 12 weeks long with 6
outpatient visits. Participants will receive a physical
examination, lab work, and study medication. Patients will continue
with their opioid medication.
Eligible patients will have chronic pain related to cancer and
meet inclusion and exclusion criteria. Patients must be taking
opioid (narcotic medications for at least 2 weeks prior to entering
the study and have pain expected to last 90 days. Patients will
receive a physical examination, and have blood drawn for laboratory
work.
