Trial Information
Summary: Seeking Oklahomans with Congestive Heart Failure who are unable to walk across a room without experiencing shortness of breath and fatigue.
Because the most common symptoms of heart failure are also
normal signs of aging, such as shortness of breath and fatigue,
many people with heart failure are not aware that they have it.
Heart failure is a condition that develops slowly as the heart
muscle weakens and is forced to work harder to keep blood flowing
through the body. Reasons for development of heart failure include
injury to the heart, uncontrolled high blood pressure, or an
abnormality of the heart valves.
Heart failure is most often recognized when it has advanced to
the stage of congestive heart failure. At this point, fluid may
leak into the lungs, feet, legs, and in some cases the liver or
abdominal cavity.
