Trial Information
Summary: Dementia Prevention Study for Healthy Women
Several studies have shown that estrogen use may reduce the risk
of dementia and memory loss. Researchers at Columbia
University's Gertrude H. Sergievsky Center, in collaboration
with experts around the country, are conducting a study to
determine if estrogen can prevent memory loss and Alzheimer's
disease. Healthy women over the age of 65, who have a family
history of memory problems and Alzheimer's disease, may be
eligible to participate in this four-year, placebo-controlled
study.
All eligible participants will undergo free medical screening to
assess their overall health. If they meet study criteria, they will
be followed semi-annually for up to nine visits and will be paid
for participation. For further information, please call Alba
