Summary: Do you have pain with intercourse or tampon insertion?
If you have chronic pain or discomfort characterized by burning, stinging, irritation or rawness on the outer part of your vagina (called the vulvar vestibule); you may have a condition called Vulvar Vestibulitis Syndrome. This condition often makes it painful to have vaginal sex or can cause discomfort when inserting a tampon. Insignia Clinical Research is testing an investigational cream to determine if it safely and effectively treats these symptoms.
Study participants must be willing to attend up to 8 study visits over an 18 week period. Qualified participants will receive study medication and study related medical care at no cost. If eligible for the study, you will be compensated for your time and travel.
Patient Inclusion Criteria:
- Premenopausal women ages 18-50 (still having periods)
- Current relationship of at least 6 months where vaginal intercourse is desired
- Willing to use effective contraception
