Trial Information
Summary: Pediatric Asthma Study CMFF258C2204
Novartis Pharmaceuticals is being conducting this clinical trial study to find out if combining the investigational drugs formoterol and mometasone while using an inhaler device called a pressurized metered dose inhaler (pMDI), is effective and safe for children between 5 and 11 years old with persistent asthma when compared to placebo (non active medicine). This clinical research study also aims to find out if formoterol given on its own using the pMDI has the same beneficial effects as formoterol given on its own using another inhaler device called the Aerolizer®. An ?investigational drug? is a drug that is being tested and is not approved for sale in the United States by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).?
Participants will be required to make at least 5 visits (and a possible 6th optional screening visit) to the study center, with at least 6 to 7 days between each visit.
