Trial Information

Summary: Iyengar Yoga for Young Adults with Rheumatoid Arthritis

You may be eligible if:

  • You are between 18-35 years old
  • You are diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis
  • You haven't practiced yoga for the last 6 months

You will be given the opportunity to attend a free Iyengar Yoga group twice a week, for six weeks. Each session will last 1.5 hours and will be taught by a master Iyengar yoga instructor.

Participation in the study will also involve answering questions about your health, pain, symptoms, mood, and other arthritis experiences. You will have your blood pressure taken and a physician will perform a physical exam to assess joint movement. This will take about 2 hours. You will be asked to attend a session before the yoga course, immediately following completion of the course and then 2 months later.

A written, informed consent is required for participation in the study.
All yoga sessions will be free of charge and held close to UCLA.
You will be compensated for any parking charges related to the research.
