Trial Information

Dichotic Listening as a Predictor of Medication Response in Depression

Individuals will receive bupropion (Wellbutrin), and if they do not respond, escitalopram (Lexapro), and if they do not respond to either, imipramine (Tofranil). They will complete dichotic testing, which consists of cognitive tasks designed to measure heightened right or left hemispheric perceptual processing, which we believe may be able to predict which individuals will respond positively to antidepressants.
