Summary: ACUTE GOUTY ARTHRITIS

This is a research study of an investigational drug for acute gouty arthritis. The research study lasts approximately 2 weeks and will require about 5 visits to the Longmont Clinic. The physician in charge of this study is David Britt, M.D.

Criteria to participate:

  • At least 18 years of age
  • Sudden onset of joint pain from gouty arthritis within the last 48 hours
  • Generally healthy
  • Do not have a diagnosis of other types of arthritis
  • Have not used pain medication to treat this attack

The study provides:

  • All study related or required exams, including physical exams, laboratory tests and an EKG
  • Study drug
  • Compensation for time and travel
