Summary: Adults with CMV disease who are undergoing a Liver Transplant wanted for research study.

UVa Health System, Department of Surgery, Transplant Division seeks adults ages 18 and up that are listed for a liver transplant for a research study.

The purpose of the study is to see if an experimental drug is safe and effective in preventing cytomegalovirus (CMV) disease in liver transplant recipients. Study involves taking an experimental medicine/placebo, and blood draws, for 15 visits over 12 months.

§ Study-related exams, tests and experimental medication will be provided free of charge.
§ No compensation is provided for this study.
