Summary: Men and Women who are about to receive their first dose of Chemotherapy or Steroids needed for Research Study
The University of Virginia Health System Human Immune Therapy Center seeks both Women and Men who are about to receive their first dose of Chemotherapy or Steroids for a research study.
The purpose of the study is to examine the effects of chemotherapy or steroid treatment on the immune system. The results from this study may further cancer vaccine research.
Study Details:
The study involves 6 blood draws over 3 weeks. Each visit should take less than 30 minutes.
You would have the option to stay overnight at no charge in the General Clinical Research Center in the UVA Main Hospital following your first dose of chemotherapy/steroids. Meals would be included.
Some blood draws must be done in the clinic, but a member of the research staff may be able to come to your home to draw your blood for other blood draws.
Compensation: $15 for each blood draw and an allowance for gas mileage.
