Summary: Migraine Research Study

Do your headaches pound on one side of your head for hours at a time? Do you become nauseous or have to lie down in a dark quiet room because of the sensitivity to light and sound? Migraine headaches can significantly interfere with your life, making daily activities difficult or nearly impossible. If you have had moderate to severe migraine headaches for at least one year, you may be eligible to participate in a research study.

Clinical Research Associates, Inc. is conducting a study to evaluate an investigational medication taken at the onset of migraine attacks, for migraine with or without aura.

Volunteers will receive a study related medical evaluation, study related medical care and study medication or placebo (an inactive substance) at no charge. Participants will receive compensation for time and travel.

Qualified participants must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Have a history migraine for at least 1 year
  • Have had at least 1 and no more than 8 moderate to severe migraine attacks per month for the past 2 months (and the headaches lasted between 4 and 72 hours when left untreated)
  • Be able to distinguish migraine headaches from tension or cluster headaches
