Summary: Post-herpetic pain

Ridgeview Research is participating in a research study of an investigational drug for the relief of pain in subjects with Post-herpetic Neuralgia. The study will evaluate the effectiveness and safety of the study drug when compared to a placebo.

Study Length, # Visits:
13-17 weeks with 7 visits

Patient Inclusion Criteria:

• Men and women 18 years of age and older
• Experiencing pain for at least 6 months but not more than 5 years after shingles have healed

Patient Exclusion Criteria:

• Sensitivity to Gabapentin (Neurontin)
• Have received surgical treatment for post herpetic pain
• Any illness that weakens the immune system
• Uncontrolled irritable bowel syndrome or any other gastrointestinal diseases
