Trial Information

Summary: If you are age 18-75 and are taking daily medication to control your asthma symptoms, you may qualify for participation in a research study to test and investigational medication for people with asthma.

The purpose of this study is to find out if reslizumab is effective ion controlling asthma symptoms. The study will last about 26 weeks and will require 10 visits to the office and phone calls between visits. Qualified participants will receive either placebo or reslizumab on a 1:1 ratio.

Patient Inclusion Criteria:

  • M/F age 18 -75
  • Moderate to severe asthma
* If you pre-qualify and come in to be screened for this study, we will do a physical examination, collect sputum, do breathing tests, get a sinus CT and draw blood for tests to further determine if you qualify for the study.

Patient Exclusion Criteria:

  • Hypereosiniphilic syndrome
  • MI or CVA in the last 3 months
  • Aortic aneurysm
  • Uncontrolled HTN
  • Other lung disorder
  • Current smoker or smoked in the past six months
  • Current use of OCS or immunosupressives
  • Live vaccine in the past three months
  • Acquired or congential immunodeficiency
