Summary: The Feasibility and Relevance of Trunk Muscle Training for Older Adults with Mobility Problems and Chronic Low Back Pain: A Randomized Controlled Pilot Study
Adults 65-90 with low back pain needed for exercise research study.
The department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Harvard Medical School and Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital is seeking men and women 65-89 for an exercise research study. The purpose of this study is to understand whether trunk muscle training can benefit older adults with chronic low back pain and mobility problems.
Eligible Participants:
-Have back pain for 3 or more months
-Have walking and balance problems
Participation involves:
-1-2 screening visits that includes a physical exam
-Exercise program offered 2 days per week for 2 months
-Exercises supervised by a qualified instructor
