Summary: An 8 Week, Double-Blind, Placebo-Controlled, Parallel Group, Fixed Dosage Study to Evaluate the Efficacy and Safety of XXXX as Adjunctive Therapy in Adults with Major Depression Associated with Bipolar I Disorder

Patient has a diagnosis of Bipolar I Disorder and is currently experiencing a major dipressive episode.

  • has had atleast 1 previous manic or mixed episode
  • currently being treated with 1 or 2 of the following drugs: lamotrigine, lithium, olanzapine or valproic acid.
  • ages 18 - 65

Patient Exclusion Criteria:

  • a history of attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), eating disorder or obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD)
  • patient has a past or present seizure disorder, head trauma that is clincally significant (e.g. Brain damage) or past neurosurgery.
  • patient has HIV
