Trial Information
Summary: The purpose of this study is to see if a new investigational medication is effective for the treatment of Alzheimer's Disease.
Study Qualifications:
Subject must be diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease and currently taking Aricept,® Exelon® or Razadyne® for treatment of Alzheimer's disease.
Subjects must be 55-90 years old and have a reliable caregiver to accompany them to each outpatient visit.
Health insurance is not required.
Study Design:
Up to 400 subjects may participate at one of approximately 35 locations in the U.S.
A screening visit is required to determine if a subject qualifies for the study.
Subject will be given medication for 12 weeks and have 8 office visits.
Random (chance) assignment to one of six dose levels of investigational medication or placebo (sugar pill).
Subject must stay on their current medication for treatment of Alzheimer's disease during the study,
Qualified Subjects will receive:
Study related medical care
Study medication
Memory testing
Reimbursement for time and travel may be available
