Summary: Heartburn/GERD
Are you troubled by frequent episodes of heartburn and/or GERD related symptoms? Have you been diagnosed with GERD?
A group of medications, called proton pump inhibitors, have been shown to promote healing of erosions and thus, resolution of symptoms and improved quality of life.
This 16-week, 6-visit research study is designed to compare the effectiveness of two PPIs, Rabeprazole ER 50mg (Aciphex® extended-release) to Esomeprazole (Nexium®) 40mg for the relief of symptoms and healing.
You may qualify if you are:
- Between the ages of 18-75
- Experiencing frequent episodes of heartburn/GERD symptoms
- Generally in good health
- Willing to undergo screening procedures which may include Endoscopy
All study related physical exams, procedures and research medication will be provided at no cost. Compensation is available for time and travel.
