Summary: Rheumatoid Arthritis Study CAIN457A2101

The purpose of this clinical research study is to evaluate which dose level of the investigational drug is most effective in participants with rheumatoid arthritis. Participants will be given either study medicine or a placebo in a random fashion (like flipping a coin). The investigational drug being tested in this study is currently not on the market (available for you to buy) in any country. This is a phase 1 study which means that this is the first time that the study drug will be studied in humans.

Participants will be asked to come to the study center 16 times over a 16 week period. Each visit will require a stay of at least 48 hours, one day before dosing and one day after dosing.
