Trial Information
Summary: UCLA Research Study on Pelvic Pain
Women ages 18-50 with at least a 6-month history of chronic pelvic pain with intercourse and a surgical diagnosis of endometriosis within the past year are wanted for a 1-2 session study of sensatin entailing:
- questionnaires regarding you life stress, psychological well-being, quality of life, sexual functioning, pelvic pain, pain assessment scales and history of sexual abuse.
- Sensation testing of the vagina, abdominal wall, and arm, using a probe that vibrates and turns hot and cold and records when you first feel the heat, cold or vibration.
Questionnaires should take approximately 2030 minutes to complete, and the entire session will take 45-60 minutes. There is a small risk of feeling uncomfortable with some of the sexual and mood questions in the questionnaire. Ther is also a small risk of pain or bruising with the blood test and a small risk of discomfort with the vaginal sensation testing. You will receive $100.00 for your participation in the study.
