Summary: Recombinant Human Prolactin Treatment for Lactation Insufficiency in Mothers of Premature Infants

The purpose of this study is to treat mothers of premature infants who are pumping breast milk for their premature infants but have an insufficient milk supply. Mothers must be 18-45yrs old, pumping breast milk to feed a premature infant and may not be taking oral contraceptives or have had previous breast surgery. This study involves four 4 to 8hr admissions, 1 outpatient visit, administration of prolactin and blood draws. A stipend of up to $200 will be provided.
