Summary: Double-Blind, Randomized Study Evaluating the Efficacy and Safety of Brivaracetam in Adults With Partial Onset Seizures

Double-Blind, Parallel-Group, Placebo Controlled, Safety and Efficacy Study of Adjunctive Brivaracetam in Subjects (>= 16 to 70 Years Old) With Partial Onset Seizures

New treatments should be made available to epileptic patients. Studies using brivaracetam in adults with epilepsy have shown promising results. This study will confirm the efficacy and safety of brivaracetam to support the submission file in the indication of adjunctive treatment in adolescents and adults with partial onset seizures.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Male or female between 16 and < 70 years.
  • Focal epilepsy.
  • Refractory patients
  • No more than 2 concomitant AEDs.

Exclusion Criteria:

  • Presence of clusters/Status epilepticus
  • Progressive CNS disorder
  • Other serious uncontrolled disease
