Summary: Relapsing forms of Multiple Sclerosis study to evaluate the safety and tolerability of two doses of an oral study drug over 24 weeks (study 7)
Participants are needed for a research study of an investigational medicine taken by mouth. There are three study medicine groups; the oral study drug at 2 different doses or placebo (a capsule with no medicine). You will have an equal chance of receiving any one of these three groups (like drawing straws).
To be eligible for participation you must
- Be 18-55 years of age
- Have a relapsing form of multiple sclerosis
- Have experienced at least 1 relapse during the last year
- Be able to walk, without aid or rest, more than 100 meters
- Failed treatment with one of the beta-interferon’s (Avonex, Betaseron, or Rebif)
Participants will receive a study-related medical evaluation, laboratory assessments, MRIs, medical tests, and experimental oral medicine at no cost.
Participation could last up to 40 weeks with multiple clinic visits during this timeframe.
