Summary: Sharp, Deep, Penetrating Pain
It’s a complication of shingles-pain that remains long
after the lesions have healed. Postherpetic Neuralgiaor PHN-can have debilitating long-term effects.
Currently, a clinical research study is under way to test the effectiveness of an investigational drug for pain associated with PHN.
Qualified study participants are:
- Between 18 and 85 years of age
- Have a clinical diagnosis of PHN
- Have experienced pain for greater than six
months after your shingles rash healed
- Have experienced pain from PHN daily for the
past three months
The study will last approximately 12 weeks.
Study participants will receive:
- Study-related medical care during the trial
- Study-related medication, tests and exams
provided at no cost
- The opportunity to help others by
contributing to medical research.
