Trial Information
Summary: Bacterial Vaginosis/Vulvovaginal Candidiasis Infections - Adults
Women with Bacterial Vaginosis/Vulvovaginal Candidiasis
Infections are asked to participate in a research study being
conducted by The Clinical Research Group.
You may be eligible to participate in this study if
you:
- Are at least 18 years of age
- Have been diagnosed with bacterial vaginosis/vulvovaginal
Candidiasis infections
You may not participate in this study if
you:
- Have a vaginal infection other than mixed bacterial
vaginosis/vulvovaginal candidiasis
- Have an active herpes outbreak or have had an outbreak within 1
month prior to the Entry Visit
- Have a known HIV (AIDS virus) infection or other disease that
makes it difficult to fight infections
- Have uncontrolled or poorly controlled diabetes
- Have taken antibiotics within 14 days prior to the study
- Have used any vaginal products (such as spermicides, douches,
feminine sprays) within 2 days before the study
- Are currently being treated for cervical intra-epithelial
neoplasia or cervical carcinoma (cancer)
- Are currently using the following medications: Steroids,
Immunosuppressive agents (medications that affect the ability to
fight infection), Neuromuscular blocking agents (strong muscle
relaxants or medications used to paralyze certain muscles during
surgery), or any medication that might affect the way the study
drug works
- Have had regional enteritis (a chronic inflammatory disease of
the intestine), ulcerative colitis (inflammation of the large
intestine (the colon)), or a history of
"antibiotic-associated" colitis
- Are pregnant, breastfeeding, or intend to become pregnant
during the study
- Have participated in another research study within the last 30
days
