Summary: Do you have High Cholesterol?

Volunteers are needed for a research study looking at the effects of a new medication to lower cholesterol, when given alone or together with an FDA- approved cholesterol medication. The entire study lasts about 4 months and includes 11 short visits to the research center at The Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.

Participants will be compensated $500 for their time and effort.

Patient Inclusion Criteria:

  • At least 18 years old
  • high cholesterol (LDL 100 - 190)


Patient Exclusion Criteria:

  • Regular alcohol use >1 drink per day
  • Liver Disease, including positive for Hepatitis
  • Diabetes Mellitus
  • COPD or active asthma
  • Body Mass Index (BMI) > 35
