Trial Information
Summary: Brain Tumor [Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM)] - Adults
People with GBM are asked to participate in a research study
being conducted by Mount Sinai School of Medicine.
You may be eligible to participate in this study if
you:
- Are between the ages of 18 and 70 years
- Are newly diagnosed with a brain tumor (Gliablastoma multifore
- GBM) and have not had surgery
You may not participate in this study if
you:
- Have an implantation of Gliadel® wafers at surgery
- Have been diagnosed with HIV, Hepatitis B or C
- Have a history of prior malignancy except for adequately
treated basal cell or squamous cell skin cancer or in situ cervical
cancer
- Have a history of autoimmune disease such as rheumatoid
arthritis, Lupus (SLE), Multiple Sclerosis, Scleroderma,
polymyositis-dermatomyositis, juvenile onset insulin dependent
diabetes, or vasculitis
- Have had any previous cytotoxic drug therapies, excluding
corticosteroids and temozolomide along with radiation therapy
- Have an acute viral, bacterial, or fungal infection that
requires specific therapy including uncontrolled infection such as
STD, herpes, scrofula, malaria, etc.
- Have a fever greater than or equal to 101.5°F
- Have an unstable or recurrent medical condition such as
unstable angina, uncontrolled arrythmias, Crohn’s Disease,
ulcerative colitis, etc.
- Are pregnant, breastfeeding, or intend to become pregnant
during the study
- Have participated in another research study within the last 30
days
