Trial Information

Summary: A Multicenter, Double-Blind, Randomized, Placebo-Controlled, Parallel-Group, Study with Three Fixed Doses of Aripiprazole in the Treatment of Children and Adolescents with Autistic Disorder

Children between the ages of 6-17 years old who have or display symptoms of autistic disorder and serious behavioral problems (such as tantrums, aggression and physically harming themselves) are asked to participate for up to 14 weeks, 9 office visits, in a research study to determine the effectiveness and safety of a medication called Abilify„µ (aripiprazole) in the treatment of the serious behavioral problems that children with autism often experience. After undergoing a comprehensive evaluation by medical doctors with a specialty in this area, children who are found eligible to participate in this research study may be treated with Abilify„µ and will have weekly visits for 8 weeks. Eligible participants may receive study medication, study-related evaluations and weekly study visits with the study doctor at no cost. Financial compensation may also be provided.
