Summary: Has IBS distored your way of Life?

The duration of the trial is 14 weeks, consisting of 6 office visits. Rescue medication will be allowed after the first 14 days of screening. Patients are compensated for their time and travel.

Patient Inclusion Criteria:

• Male of Female age 18-70
• Mild to moderate abdominal pain
• Must be willing to use an IVRS telephone system

Patient Exclusion Criteria

• Severe abdominal pain GI abnormalities (diverticulitis, Chron's disease, Barrett's esophagus, GERD) Unless on stable treatment for 3 months.
• Allergy to Verapamil.
• Abnormal colonoscopy within the last 5 years.
• Must not have taken antibiotics within the last 30 days prior to screening.
