Trial Information
Summary: Blood Clots - Adults
Patients who are hospitalized or confined to a bed are eligible
to participate in a research study that prevents formation of blood
clots. This study is conducted by Long Island Jewish Medical
Center.
You may be eligible to participate in this study if you:
- Are 40 years of age or older
- Anticipate complete immobilization during the first day of
hospitalization and anticipated decreased level of mobility (bed
rest) and hospital stay duration of at least 4 days
You may not participate in this study if you:
- Have a condition that may increase bleeding
- Have had an amputation above the knee
- Are pregnant, breastfeeding, or intend to become pregnant
during the study
- Have participated in another research study within the last 30
days
