Trial Information
Summary: Clinical trial to test a study drug in people who have Herpes Zoster
The purpose of this study is to see if the study drug, cream, is
effective on Herpes Zoster symptoms when they begin. This study
will compare the study drug cream to a placebo cream, plus Valtrex
(Valacyclovir) or placebo.
Study drug and study procedures will be made available to you at
no cost.
To qualify, you must:
- Be at least 18 years old
- Be diagnosed with Herpes Zoster
You will not qualify if you:
- Are pregnant or breast-feeding
- Have received immunosuppressive drug therapy within the last 3
months
- Have received 5-fluorouracil, Tegafur, Capecitabine, or
Doxifluridine within the last 6 month
- Have Herpes Zoster ophthalmicus
- Have a history of positive test results for hepatitis B surface
antigen, hepatitis C virus or human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)
antibodies
- Have participated in a clinical drug or device trial within the
last 30 days
