Summary: A Randomized-Withdrawal Phase III Study Evaluating the Safety and Efficacy of CG5503 Extended- Release (ER) in Subjects with Painful Diabetic Peripheral Neuropathy (DPN)

Diabetes Clinical Research Study

Do you have hand, foot, or leg pain caused by diabetes-related nerve damage?

You may qualify for a research study at MGH if:

•You are at least 18 years old
•Have moderate to severe pain in the hands, feet, and/or legs that is not being relieved with over-the-counter or prescription pain relievers for at least 3 months
•Have been diagnosed with Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes with at least 6 months of painful Diagnosed Peripheral Neuropathy (DPN)
•Have controlled blood sugar levels for at least 3 months prior to enrolling in the study.

Study participation lasts approximately 5 months and requires 13 office visits and 1 follow-up phone call. All study-related office visits, medical evaluations, and study medication will be provided to qualified subjects at no cost. Patients will be reimbursed for parking expenses.
