Summary: Effects of supraphysiologic rhGH on bone metabolism in Anorexia Nervosa
Seeking women with anorexia nervosa (who are up to 45 years old) and who are not on estrogen (birth control pills) for a research study looking at the effect of a natural hormone on bone turnover. The study is conducted by the Neuroendocrine Unit at Massachusetts General Hospital. The study includes eight outpatient visits over the course of three months. Participants receive physical examinations, nutritional analyses, hormonal evaluations, blood tests, and measurements of bone density. A natural hormone may be administered. There is no cost for participation in the study, and a payment of up to $200 is available for those who are eligible to participate. Local transportation and parking costs will be reimbursed.
