Trial Information
Summary: Essential Tremor
A Phase II Clinical Research Trial for essential tremor. This is
a double blind, placebo-controlled, crossover study, in which all
patients will receive investigational medication. Medication,
physical exams and laboratory evaluation are free of charge to the
patient. There is financial compensation upon qualification at the
conclusion of the study.
We are looking for individuals who:
- Are male or female between the ages of 18 and 85 years of
age
- Experience shaking in both hands or whose arms shake when
trying to eat, drink, or reach for something
- Experience shaky handwriting due to the tremor
- Experience tremor that disappears when at rest, like lying in
bed
- Have experienced tremor for 5 or more years.
Patient Exclusion Criteria:
- No other abnormal neurological signs or conditions other than
essential tremor, that could interfere with the evaluation of
tremor, such as Parkinson's disease, stroke, dystonia,
etc.
- No serious or life-threatening medical illnesses within the
past year.
- No history of significant cardiac disease including, congenital
QT shortening, unstable angina, heart failure or myocardial
infarction.
