Summary: Universal Data & Serum Specimen Collection System for Hemophilia
Subject:
You have/Your child has been asked to participate in this research study because you are/your child is greater or less than 2 years of age with a diagnosis of Hemophilia or von Willebrand’s disease. The purposes of this study are to monitor the health of people with Hemophilia and to help the CDC and (Center for Disease Control and Prevention) develop and evaluate programs to reduce or prevent the complications of Hemophilia. An additional purpose of this study is to determine if you have/your child has been exposed to blood-borne viruses.
Mother:
You have been asked to participate in this research study because you are the mother of a child with Hemophilia or von Willebrand’s disease to determine if events during your pregnancy, such as the type of delivery and /or being a carrier mother poses a risk for bleeding in the baby.
This research is expected to last multiple years. The information from the project will be used to help your doctor plan your/your child’s medical care.
